FAQs About Urgent Pet Care Center
Do I need to schedule an appointment?
No, patients are seen on a walk-in basis. First come, first serve but also based on a triage system where pets with more serious conditions will be seen first.
What are my payment options?
We accept cash and all major credit cards along with Care Credit and ScratchPay. We do not accept checks. Payment is due at the time services are rendered.
What about pet insurance?
If your pet is covered by a Pet Insurance Policy, we will happily work with you and the insurance company to provide the necessary documents for owner reimbursement. Please note: You are still responsible for payment in full at the time service is rendered. We DO NOT bill the insurance company.
What if my pet needs more care than what UPCC can provide?
In the event your pet’s illness or injuries require more care than we can provide, we will discuss referral to an appropriate Emergency hospital.
Do you perform routine veterinary care?
We do not provide wellness care (i.e. vaccinations) or sell any preventative medicine (heartworm, flea & tick). It is our goal to partner with your primary veterinarian so your pet can receive same-day care for nonlife-threatening illnesses and injuries.
Can I refill my pet’s regular prescription with you when my vet’s office is closed?
Without an established client and patient relationship, we are legally unable to fill a prescription for a patient without an exam. In the event you run out of an essential medication for your pet and your primary care vet’s office is closed, your pet will need to be examined and we will fill up to 5 days worth of medication.
We recommended calling to find out if we carry the medication you require.
How does my primary care veterinarian know my pet visited the urgent care?
Urgent Pet Care Center utilizes an online portal so your pet’s veterinarian has access to the complete medical record. Your primary care veterinarian will receive an email after your pet is discharged, informing them of your pet’s visit to the Urgent Care Center.
Do you offer End of Life Care Services?
If you feel your pet’s health and quality of life are declining, we offer end-of-life care. You may be present with your pet if you choose to be. Saying goodbye is never easy, but we believe the process is kinder for pets and family both when they can be together in the final moments. Cremation services are offered through Pet Passages.
