Andrew Diaz, DVM
Owner & Veterinarian
Dr. Diaz has been immersed in veterinary care since he was 14, starting with walking dogs and cleaning kennels.
After earning his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2000, he completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. He practiced in Manhattan before he became a veterinarian in OKC in 2004, where he worked in emergency and critical care.
In 2017, he became the owner of the Animal Emergency Center (now Veterinary Emergency Referral Center) of Norman, and in 2023, he opened Urgent Pet Care Center to help meet the growing need for accessible, compassionate urgent care in the Edmond area.
Dr. Diaz’s love for veterinary medicine started in high school after reading “All Creatures Great and Small” – a book that quickly made him realize his calling. It was in vet school that he quickly realized he had a passion for emergency medicine. His favorite parts of the job are ultrasound, wound care, and transfusion medicine.
At home, Dr. Diaz and his wife, who is also a veterinarian, enjoy spending time with family. They share their home with three lovable mutts and, Leonard, the orange cat.
Linda Blair, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Linda Blair has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1987 and brings a wealth of experience and heart to the Urgent Pet Care Center team. She began her career in emergency medicine in 1989 and has been a part of UPCC since its opening in December 2023. Known for her precision and calm under pressure, Dr. Blair especially enjoys laceration repairs and helping pets recover from injuries with skillful, compassionate care.
Driven by a deep, lifelong connection to animals of all kinds, Dr. Blair has dedicated her life to being a veterinarian in OKC. Her furry (and finned) family includes Nikki – her special sidekick dog who rarely leaves her side – along with three cats, four horses (some retired, some known for jumping fences), and even goldfish living in her horse trough.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Blair lives an adventurous life. She enjoys horseback riding, running, hiking, weightlifting, camping, kayaking, skiing (both snow and water), and gardening. She also loves spending time with her adult children and grandkids. Fun fact? She was once a national championship powerlifter and was part of the first troop of girls to attend Philmont Scout Ranch.
Jennifer Jaycox, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jennifer Jaycox brings a lifelong love of animals and a sharp diagnostic mind to the Urgent Pet Care Center team. She earned her bachelor’s degree in science from Northeastern State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University. Originally torn between becoming a marine biologist or a veterinarian, she chose to be a veterinarian in OKC!
Jennifer’s journey in veterinary medicine started at just 15 years old as a kennel attendant, and she’s been in the field ever since. Her favorite part of the job is getting to the bottom of a tough case, providing definitive answers and peace of mind to pet owners when their nonverbal patients can’t tell us what’s wrong. She thrives in the puzzle-solving side of medicine and brings calm clarity to even the most uncertain moments. She loves to help you gain confidence in your pet health plan!
At home, Jennifer is kept on her toes by her two Boston Terriers, Eddie and Archie. Eddie is a shadow-chasing, laser-pointer-loving ball enthusiast (who’s not so into bringing the ball back). Archie, the more dramatic of the two, has perfected the art of “silent barking” and “angry stamping” to let Jennifer know when it’s time to go outside, earning his antics nicknames like “polite borks” and “angry borks.”
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Jennifer lifting weights, doing yoga, enjoying stand-up comedy, or heading to a Thunder game with her fiancé Drew. She’s a huge foodie, puzzle lover, and beach traveler – with a freshwater fish tank and a surprisingly entertaining crew of snails. And yes – she once got launched out of a kayak by a startled herd of manatees during a pitch-black night time trip in Florida (no alligators were involved, thankfully).
Stefanie Myers, RVT
Practice Manager
Stefanie Myers brings a wealth of experience and heart to her role as Practice Manager at Urgent Pet Care Center. A Registered Veterinary Technician with an associate’s degree in Applied Animal Science from OSU–OKC, Stefanie has been working in veterinary medicine since 2004, starting as a kennel technician and growing into leadership roles across multiple practices.
Stefanie has always loved animals of all kinds. Her passion for veterinary medicine started early and led her to a career that combined her love for animals with her talent for patient care and team leadership. She especially enjoys the fast-paced, in-between world of urgent care – where she can support pets and their families when they need help the most, often after hours or on weekends.
At home, Stefanie is surrounded by the small, fluffy dogs she adores: Millie the Yorkie, Remy the Poodle, and two Pomeranians, Teddy and Honey. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her spending time with her husband and two kids, hiking, building Lego sets, or working on a puzzle. A fun fact? If she weren’t in vet med, she’d be chasing a dream in forensic science – or glamming people up as a hair and makeup artist.
Terri Knighton-Christian, RVT
Veterinary Technician & Purchasing Manager
Terri Knighton-Christian brings nearly four decades of experience to the Urgent Pet Care Center team. A Registered Veterinary Technician since graduating in 1987, Terri has dedicated her career to caring for animals with skill, heart, and a no-nonsense approach grounded in decades of hands-on work. She joined UPCC when it opened in December 2023 and quickly became a core part of the team.
Terri’s love for animals began early. She started horseback riding lessons at 8 years old and got her first horse at 12. Caring for animals has always felt second nature, so becoming a veterinary technician was a natural path for her. Today, she thrives in her dual role as Purchasing Manager and Senior Technician. She enjoys meeting new and interesting people while keeping the clinic running smoothly behind the scenes.
At home, Terri lives in what she lovingly calls a small zoo: 9 dogs, 13 cats, 6 horses, 2 donkeys, and 2 mini horses. Among them is Freedom, her beloved 6-year-old gelding, born at home after she rescued his mother from a kill pen – her ultimate heart horse.
When she’s not at work, Terri loves spending time with her daughter and their horses, traveling, and being with her sister. A lifelong learner, she earned a degree in criminal justice at age 45 and returned to the show ring at 55 – reigniting a childhood passion for showing horses.
Aaron Brenner, RVT
Veterinary Technician
Aaron Brenner is a Registered Veterinary Technician who brings both curiosity and compassion to his role at Urgent Pet Care Center. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster and is certified in the state of Oklahoma. His journey into veterinary medicine started unexpectedly. While caring for a cat and a bunny, he realized he didn’t know as much as he wanted to about animal care. That spark of curiosity led him to begin working in veterinary clinics, and he quickly discovered that helping pets and their people was more rewarding than anything else he’d done before.
Aaron started his career over a decade ago as a weekend kennel attendant, then transitioned into a veterinary assistant role while completing his degree. He officially became a credentialed veterinary technician in 2022 and joined the UPCC team in November 2024.
One of Aaron’s favorite things about working at UPCC is the teamwork and being surrounded by fellow animal lovers who are just as committed to providing excellent care. He values the connection between pet and provider and takes pride in delivering that care with both empathy and skill.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Aaron doesn’t currently have pets of his own, but thanks to his brother’s family, he still gets plenty of puppy kisses and kitty cuddles. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys reading, listening to music, and taking long walks.
Paige Stumpff
Veterinary Assistant
Paige is a lifelong animal lover who brings 20 years of experience to the UPCC team – 13 of those in emergency veterinary medicine. She holds an associate’s degree in Applied Animal Science (Veterinary Technology) from OSU-OKC. Driven by a deep connection to animals, she’s passionate about making a meaningful impact – especially during urgent or stressful moments when pets and their families need care the most. She strives to care for every client and their pet with the empathy and support she would hope to receive if the roles were reversed. We value Paige’s calm, compassionate presence and her strong desire to provide both comfort and clarity when things feel uncertain.
Paige always keeps her sense of humor intact. She’s known for cracking jokes and delivering off-the-wall one-liners to lighten the mood when needed. At home, Paige shares life with her husband and two beloved pups: Stella, a sassy 15-year-old Shih Tzu mix, and Larry, a playful 4-year-old Shepherd mix. When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find her behind the camera, out on the water kayaking, or tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants (she once had over 100!).
Chelsea Smith
Veterinary Assistant
Chelsea Smith has been working in veterinary medicine since 2005, and her approach has always been grounded in empathy. From the beginning, she felt more at ease connecting with animals than people, and it shows in the way she tunes in to each patient’s unique personality. Her favorite part of the job is offering comfort when pets are scared or uncertain, creating a safe space not just for animals, but for the people who love them, too.
She has a talent for reading body language, forming quick bonds, and even using different voices and playful characters to help animals relax during their visit.
At home, Chelsea stays busy with her adventurous and lovable Staffordshire Terrier, Kai Kai, a proud “truck dog” who joined the ranks of canine blood donors this year. Outside of the clinic, she’s a proud mom of seven and is always on the move, balancing seasonal sports, camping trips, and a household that’s full of love (and definitely never dull).
